What is Flow State?

Flow state is a state of optimal performance and enjoyment that can occur during daily swim training. It is a mental state in which a swimmer is fully absorbed in the activity, feeling a sense of timelessness, and experiencing a strong sense of control and confidence in their abilities. The swimmer is not distracted by external factors and is fully immersed in the present moment, allowing them to perform at their best. 

During flow state, a swimmer may experience a number of different sensations. They may feel a sense of effortlessness, as if they are moving through the water with ease and efficiency. They may also experience a heightened sense of awareness, noticing subtle details in their movements and surroundings that they might not normally notice. They may feel a sense of exhilaration, as they are pushing themselves to new heights of performance and achievement.

Flow state is often characterized by a lack of self-consciousness and a complete focus on the task at hand. Swimmers in flow state are fully engaged in the activity and are not distracted by thoughts of the past or future, or by concerns about their performance. Instead, they are fully present in the moment, allowing their instincts and muscle memory to guide them into a fluid moving meditation.
